Excellent service, staff, and food. I enjoy it when I can use a throwaway toothbrush and toothpaste to brush my teeth while traveling overnight. Communication about flight delays could be improved. Before it was eventually announced that my flight would be delayed, there were some serious misunderstandings about where my flight would land and take off between the gates.
My neck, back, and tailbone hurt from the stiffness and discomfort of the seat and seatback; I had dozed off and woken up from the pain. The interface for collecting music could be improved.
Fantastic crew, delicious food, and I especially enjoyed the chef program for meals, which increased my immersion in the JAL experience. The Air Mos burger for breakfast gave me the impression that JAL genuinely wanted to showcase the best aspects of contemporary Japanese culture to its guests.
Japan Airlines is incredibly kind to us, especially when it comes to the children. There was no exception with this flight. They went above and beyond to make sure the kids had food they would enjoy, even though I had forgotten to reserve a kid’s meal for them (parents, don’t forget!).
The meal was delicious, the crew was attentive, and the overall experience was very different from American-style businesses that try to con you out of every penny while still taking advantage of you. Overall, it was an excellent experience for a long-haul economy flight. I promise to look into Japan Airlines as a possibility for any future flights I take.
The staff was amiable, accommodating, and courteous. The food was served hot and was excellent. I felt that $1,000 round-trip direct from Boston was a great deal for a flight to Japan, especially since you got two full meals and extra snacks. Far more than I had anticipated. Would take another flight on Japan Airlines.
If you are tall, the business class seats are not very long. The Western meal option isn’t all that traditional. The crew is a little too efficient; in order to clear the mattresses, they woke up ninety minutes before landing. Many announcements—perhaps too many. punctual and able to reply to messages promptly. The ramen and sake both tasted good.
I was unable to board the flight. because of the LAX departure. Knowing that this was a possibility prior to the arrival would have been nice. It almost didn’t happen, but the women at Japan Airlines managed to get me on a later flight. I’m grateful that they were able to book me another one.
The economy seat reclined a great deal, but it was still very uncomfortable. Was quite unhappy that I was unable to sleep during the 12-hour flight. Shoulder pads too low? The backrest’s shape was peculiar. Maybe give a larger pillow so that arms can rest on it in addition to the neck pillow. You also need more films. There’s a lot more options with Singapore Airlines. All in all, the food, crew, and aircraft were excellent.
Although the design of the seats was not as spacious as in other business class cabins, they were still fairly comfortable, which may worry some passengers. Additionally, the entertainment system’s main menu was a little challenging for me to navigate because I couldn’t change it to my preferred language (although I was able to use it with the help of a guide card, and the entertainment options were excellent!).
The ideal method for a lengthy international flight. The staff is welcoming, courteous, and kind. Customers feel well-cared for by a highly skilled and professional staff, and passengers enjoy a comfortable, low-stress environment.
The flight attendants provided excellent service to families with young children. One of the toddlers behind us cried for four hours nonstop, and they did a great job supporting the parents. and the onboard meal was excellent.
JAL sent me an email with a second set of flight changes, which completely disrupted my travel plans because they only changed one leg of each trip. would arrive in Tokyo one day later than I needed it to, and there would be an extra-charged overnight stopover in Helsinki. One day after my Helsinki-Heathrow flight had left, my return flight to Helsinki would arrive! The website found my account, but it couldn’t find my booking. I called UK Customer Services and had to wait for a pickup of 45 minutes. When I did, however, finally get through, the agent was really helpful and actually paid extra to book me on direct flights on the days I wanted. Very satisfied in the end, but the website is completely useless and the process is excruciating.
I have nothing but high praises for the impeccable customer service. The flight was quite long. The genuine willingness of the attendants to serve is extraordinary. We’ve taken long-haul flights on other major airlines, but nothing comes close to JAL. The staff members are consistently kind, cheerful, and courteous. They gave us a warm, appreciated feeling. The food was excellent. They provided a balanced and healthful meal. You feel satisfied but not swollen. These days, our favorite airline is JAL. I’ve told all of my friends and family about it.
Our airline canceled our return premium economy flights from Sydney to Tokyo. We were unable to use the other dates that were offered. We were only able to obtain a refund and attempt to rebook with a different airline because there was no way to change the route. Then, we were informed that it would take two to three months to process the refund. We cannot reschedule until less than two weeks before our intended departure date because of this unjustifiable extended period of time that we will be out of pocket for.
The JAL flight crew was polite. There wasn’t much entertainment in the air. There was a modest and small food menu. Drinks were only provided upon request, which is really awful! The crew was disoriented and placed little slips on the seats at different times based on the passengers’ preferred meals; the servings were also disorganized. The in-flight experience was disorganized. The ground crew at NRT was superior in comparison. A mediocre experience all around.
I made two trips from Denmark to Tokyo, and both times were very wonderful experiences. Excellent service, very comfortable seats, excellent expedition times, good/relevant information before and after the flight, and sufficient room between the seats on both axes—all very important to a big man like me. I will most certainly be using Japan Airlines once more when I travel. I appreciate a pleasant and enjoyable trip.
Excellent customer service during my entire trip, including the check-in process, the waiting area, the aircraft, the meal, and everything else! Specifically, when I got to Frankfurt Airport, a very gracious ground crew person from JAL was waiting for me to help me find my way from one side of the airport to the other so I wouldn’t miss my connecting flight. Even in these challenging days of air travel, the check-in, ground, and cabin crew members were all incredibly nice and kind, making my trip to Japan an utter delight. I’m grateful, JAL!
Exceptionally good airline! Our route was Boston-Narita-Itami and Boston-Narita. The employees at the Boston airport were extremely kind and courteous, but all of the Japan Airlines employees we dealt with performed an excellent job. Many thanks for all of Mariko’s assistance from Boston. They were busy throughout the cherry blossom season, yet they were always happy to help and smile.
The best airline I have ever flown with is JAL. The customer support is attentive and of a good caliber. I used the ordering touchscreen, and I found it to be very user-friendly, convenient, and time-saving because I didn’t have to call the attendant to place my food order or handle the payment. It would be great if all airlines could implement this feature, as it truly enhanced my flight experience.

We had to cancel a flight recently for health reasons, and the JAL staff was very accommodating. When it was time for us to take off, they scheduled us on the next flight that was available and handled the retrieval and storage of our luggage. Their service is excellent in every way, and they truly make you feel like a valued client. The next time we want to fly a route that JAL services, they will be first on our list. They established a benchmark that other airlines would find difficult to meet.
My family took a business class flight from Vietnam to Boston, stopping at Narita airport for a layover. Because there were no wheelchair attendants on hand when my parents boarded, they were not permitted to preboard or board first according to their ticket class. We were the last to board. The food was tasteless and cold.
When it came to food, the JAL service between Tokyo and Australia was consistently superior. Sadly, though, they have fallen short due to a poor selection and poor quality. The crew and service were good, but the aircraft was an older 787 with uncomfortable, outdated seats. That was a let down.
It’s my first flight on JAL. Flight was on time, but check-in was too slow. No options for food. We were given a very unhealthy dish of fatty pork. limited options for entertainment while flying. My return flight to Manila was a miserable experience. Again, check-in moved very slowly. I was in the middle, occupying about a quarter of my seat and the arm rest with a burly passenger. He ought to have been seated next to an empty seat by the ground crew. The food was awful once more.
The fact that Japan Airlines will cancel your return tickets without even informing you, simply because you missed a portion of the flight, is what drives me crazy. This is something that no other American airline will offer. This is completely absurd.
JAL has excellent quality. Great food and service. The food portions and the variety of entertainment shows are the only areas that need work.
Everything was excellent, save for the app. C/I, automated baggage drop off was fun and easy. The biggest plus was the spacious Economy cabin with excellent in-flight entertainment. All in all, it was excellent, and I’m looking forward to my next flight.

I took a JAL flight from Sydney to Haneda Airport, and they were really incredible. Great experience because they were very customer-focused, amiable, and efficient. The personnel takes great pride in providing attentive service and ensuring your comfort. If you are considering taking a flight with someone else, reconsider. Wouldn’t hesitate to fly with JAL.
Overall, I hate flying because I find it terrifying. However, my experience flying with JAL was the best I’ve ever had. There were no abrupt turns during takeoff or ascent to cruising altitude, and the pilot did not use the full throttle to reach 10,000 feet. The crew and the cabin were spotless and attentive, and I had more meals than I had anticipated. Overall fantastic experience; I suggest JAL make another reservation.
