After paying for a ticket, we were informed at the airport that there were no seats available. Employees were impolite and disregarded the customer policy. We were given a phone number instead of a refund, so we could afford to pay for another company flight.
The worst flight company I have ever used. It’s completely absurd. As soon as you attempt to check in, they charge you a lot more money. Initially stated as a check-in fee, the charge is later changed to tourism tax. If that weren’t already awful enough, the staff is incredibly unpleasant and you can only pay with cash. The worst airline I’ve ever flown with, and I strongly advise against doing so. It is advisable to purchase a “more expensive” ticket because Volaris will increase airport fees to an absurd degree. The worst thing that has ever happened.
Volaris has raised the bar for low-cost aviation significantly. Customer service representatives need to be trained. Discuss the “I detest my job” mentality. The distance between check-in and the gate is a topic best left unspoken.
Avoid flying with this sad excuse for an airline. There’s a reasonable probability that they will cancel your flight, take you halfway to your destination and declare that they “made it right,” then leave you to figure out the rest on your own with no further assistance. If you try to inquire as to why your plans were abruptly canceled, they will treat you like dirt.
I wouldn’t waste my time even looking at this low cost, badly operated airline. We bought tickets in advance, arrived at the airport two hours before takeoff, and were informed that although we would be placed on standby, we would be seated at the gate. We were moved to a smaller aircraft than anticipated by Volaris. We didn’t think it acceptable that they offered us substitutes that came a day and a half later and were from airports two to five hours away. The customer representative was kind and sorry, but it appears that the airline is badly managed and shows a flagrant disregard for reservations. I wouldn’t trust Volaris for any kind of travel, and I have no problem telling others to stay away from this airline whenever possible.
